The SamJac™ Depth At A Glance® Heavy Duty Construction Probe was designed with multi-faceted uses. It’s heavy duty steel, powder coated "T" handle adds weight to the probe, allowing the user not to have to apply so much physical pressure to make the probe penetrate the soil surfaces.The adjustable “Tee” handle adjust to both 42" and 48" in height. The 1/2" Stainless Steel shaft adds strength to prevent bending and flexing while trying to locate the utility line. The interchangeable probe tip is constructed of plastic to aid in the prevention of puncturing buried utility lines. The probe shaft and handle have been machined with depth identifying marks every 6" to give the user a more accurate depth measurement when accuratcy is a must!

If you've ever been in a ditch 15-20 feet deep and you have to make a core into the sewer main, lowering a coring machine down there and setting it up is not an easy task. Better yet, adapting a coring hole saw to fit your drill and because it doesn't have a pilot bit, you align it between your two feet to guide it in straight. Yes...I've been there! All of those methods are probably still easier than trying to locate a 4.5" or a 5" carbide tipped hole saw with a carbide tipped pilot bit that will fit your 1/2" power source and accommodate your sewer "Tee".
